The piece has been developed through analysis of existing design language embedded in the built environment and inherited objects around us. The geometry was inspired by the vernacular architecture of the region and the module was further developed by looking at elements such as volumetric relations between decorative Muqarnas and graphic qualities of regional calligraphy strokes.
Reconstructing findings into their fundamental elements, in other words, finding the smallest entities which can communicate a sense of belonging to the region.
Once the symbol is defined, the design process takes this traditional signifier and processes it a non-traditional manner. Defining the process is designer’s input in how to creatively produce a contemporary product which also represents the essence of the region.
